Prepping the Baby Room

So after searching around online, reading blogs, forums and so on, We decided on Turquoise as out main colour. It's apparently unisex and to be honest its what I've wanted from day 1. Here is a photo of what we are trying for on the walls. Secondary colour will be green and if it's a girl we will add pink accents, wall decals etc.... Definitely NOT adding yellow. I hate yellow.

15 weeks

Alrighty here is a pic. Still not showing much but I can feel the firmness under my belly.


1 week away from 4 months.

As you can see in the side by side, there is not much change in three weeks. But they say one day i'll just pop.

Also we are using a better camera now and dave is getting better at taking the picture at the right angle.....

Baby's Heartbeat!

Not much to report

Decided not to do a photo last week cause it looked the same as the first one. Tomorrow is 14 weeks, so maybe Friday we'll get a picture up. Wednesday we have a doc appointment and will hopefully get to hear the heart beat.


Tomorrow we are going shopping for paint! So excited........

Baby Room Likes

This is week 12 (3 months, in my thirteenth week, 2nd trimester, whatever)

This is us this morning at week 12. I go by weeks, it's week 12. Tuesday is our week marker, so technically Baby is 12 weeks 2 days.


I'm gonna do morning shots cause it's a true measure of bump. By the evening after eating all day my stomach sticks out like I'm 26 weeks.


So here begins the "Bump Watch"


Also, since things are rolling along nicely and I stuck to my word, no crazy making before 12 weeks, I will now begin sharing my prep for baby ideas and random thoughts of the day.

Ultrasound Pic - 8 weeks 6 days

Sorry for not getting this up sooner, just been super tired and busy with the design business.

As a side note, I am going to change Fred's name, since he only responds to Cookie, He will now be called Cookie and when he is a good boy will be given Freds. 

Week 11 - Into Week 12

Life without Diclectin is nauseating....haha but I have more energy! Today marks 11 weeks down. Nothing to show for it yet, I am getting through my work days with a bit more ease now (thank god) but still pretty exhausted when I get home. I am going to the hospital tomorrow to see if I can get a picture from the first ultrasound 2 weeks ago, so stay tuned for that! not much to see really. A cloud.  Next Doctor's appointment is Dec 21st just to weigh in and talk symptoms. Other than that, my manicure from Friday is starting to chip so I'll have to do them myself again....sigh  ;o)

Diclectin - No More

Well that didn't go over so well. Found out that it's a B vitamin and an antihistamine tablet. # 1 Side affect is drowsiness, like I'm not already dealing with sleepyness as it is. So lets just say it knocked me on my ass. Didn't make it back to work yesterday after lunch. Dave was so sweet to take the night off of coaching bball to stay with me. I slept for 4 hours in the afternoon and then was pretty much dead silent until 6pm, just so out of it. 


Today on the other hand, felt a little sick in the morning,  tired around lunch time, but took a 10 min laydown, then was pretty good for the afternoon, usually around 3pm I start fading away but I did have an earl grey tea which may of helped. The best part was that the Spa had a free mini treatments night! So I got a lovely neck/scalp rub from Nikki, and got my nails polished by Yvonne. Had a good time, some nice snacks and popped a %30 off balloon, so I bought my polish and a nice miso vinagrette from Jen.


Definitely need to make spa treatments a regular part of my life. Anyone willing to finance it for me? ;o)

Day one of Diclectin

I woke up feeling pretty good, but now either it's wearing off already or it's making me feel worse. 2 hours after I wake up I'm nauseous again? I took another one when I woke up but because of the time release, it won't kick in until 4pm, so not sure how that benefits me now. Not to mention i'm already feeling super tired!! Maybe it's just one of those days, or maybe it's just that I'm pregnant and this is the crap you have to deal with.

Anyways! Hopefully 2 more weeks i'll feel more chipper........ crossing my fingers. Wishing I was in bed.

Doctor's Appointment Today 2

Went to see the doctor today. Tried to listen for heart beat but at 10 weeks it's still to early. No weight gain (WOOHOO!!) low blood pressure though which is contributing to my exhaustion. Everyday is a battle to stay awake. Doctor gave me Diclectin a couple weeks late but hopefully that'll help the sickness part. Take two before bed and one in the morning.


Not much to do now but wait until the bump shows (no nothing yet), and then back to the docs on December 21st (week 14) to try and listen for the heart beat.


The sex determination won't be accurate, apparently the guy has a 60% accuracy rate, lots of people were told they would have one sex and the other would be born. Sooooo........... what colour to paint the room?

Ultrasound Day!

Well sorry to disappoint, but no photo. The camera was down, but don't fret! Next week we can go back and he'll get a copy for us. 


So the details:


Stage: 8 weeks 6 days
Size: 2.13 cm
Heart Rate: 163 bpm


Couldn't see much in the ultrasound, looked like a cloud with a quick flicker in the middle of it.


Have to say I 'm happy to learn I'm one week ahead of what I thought I was!


Doctor's appointment on the 23rd for follow up on pre-natal bloodwork and the ultrasound, so I will update then!


Symptoms: Still feeling like crap all day everyday, energy level today seems a little better that last week.

Not everyone was as excited as us.....

Doctor's Appointment Today

Saw the doctor today. Nothing exciting, he can't pinpoint how far along I am, anywhere from 5 - 7 weeks. So he sent for for pre-natal blood work and an ultrasound. The ultrasound is booked for November 14th so unless something super awesome happens between now and then, I'll post back on the 14th.


Symptoms: Sick feeling not pukey, sore chest as before, bloating.....or that might be from dinner...ha

Confirmed

Yesterday I had blood work done and waited ALL day for the results only to find out I had to call back this morning. When I did a VERY giddy and excited voice said "Yea! Your Pregnant!" She knew all about what I'd been dealing with up to this point so was very happy for me. My questions was "Who are you?" I still don't know.

So with some weird formula of 14000 ppm of hcg, it's official I am pregnant. Got a doctors appointment on Friday to being prenatal something or other (more blood work, ultrasound I guess).

Incase anyone is wondering, I don't really have morning sickness, my stomach is at a constant unsettled feeling. Otherwise I feel great!

Baby Weaver - Week 5

Or as I call it week one since I didn't find out until Saturday, Oct 22nd 2011. Wanna know the details....alrighty!

After a wonderful morning doing what Kitimatians do on Saturdays, (a cruise though Terrace) I decided after another 54 days of no period (since my last cycle was 48, before that was 45 and before that was 150!) That I might as well check the pee stick again just to re-assure myself that I'm not pregnant for health reasons. And my reaction was, "yup there's that single line again, wow it's dark, why is it on the left, why is the second one starting to show, Dave Come here please!, What the hell is this, what does it mean, I don't understand what it means!!" Obviously we were both skeptical because of the issues I'd been having with my cycle. So What did I do? Thank god for technology, I took a picture of it and send it to my sister to ask her what the hell was going on....... She knew.........After shaking, tears, laying on the floor for 20 mins, I accepted it and went about my day. 


Later that night, I took test # 2, looked the same as number one. I was convinced, Dave was still wanting more confirmation. So the next morning, I got up at 8:30 with a full bladder, drove to the store grabbed a digital test (these ones are great cause they use WORDS instead of lines), came home with A&W breaky ran straight into the washroom and took the test (this BTW was after I went through A&W drive through with my car, my car in which the window doesn't roll down, can you imagine how stupid i felt/looked STANDING at the A&W drive through window?). And as suspected, test # three showed "PREGNANT 3+". Counting back and using a due date calculator I figure i'm 5 weeks give or take a couple days. Sooo YEA!!!
